College Library

The college Library contains about more than 6000 books in different sections and sub-sections. The staff and students of the college and any other person specially permitted by the principal may use the library.


1. The Library remains open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


(a) The Library remains closed on Sundays and public holidays.
(b)The last period of every working day is set apart for office work the library and during the period no books are issued or received.
(c)The students of the college are required to receive their library books from the college library on the following dates. They are to return the books borrowed from library between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on all working days.


Rules common to all borrowers of books.

1. No books shall be taken out of the Library without the knowledge of the librarian and unit it has been properly entered in the issue registered and attested by the borrower.

2. Each borrower must examine the condition of the books before those are issued to otherwise in case of mutilation discovered later, the presumption will be against the borrower.

3. Books shall be returned within the period allowed to the borrower.

4. When the date of return of a book falls on an authorised holiday it may be retuned

5. All library books in possession of the borrower shall be re tuned to the library whenever he/she received a requisition notice for the return of the books from the librarian.

6. Anybody in possession of the library books shall return those to the library whenever she/he receive a requisition notice for the return of the books, from the librarian.

7. Books taken out of the library must be returned to the librarian.

8. No marginal notes or marking shall be made in the library books nor shall any page removed or, torn. In case of a page is found disfigured, torn or, removed the penalty shall fall on the receiver.

9. The librarian will report to the principal the names of persons responsible for improper use of the library books.

10. Although ordinarily there will be no restriction on use of books in the library, the principal has the right to stop the issue of certain books to all or, to some intending borrowers.

11. A borrower against whom any overdue or other charges are outstanding shall not be allowed to borrow from the library and any one who has got a library deposit shall not be allowed to withdraw her/his deposit until the library dues are cleared.

12. If any borrower keeps the library books in her/his possession for more than the time allowed for the purpose no more books will are restored to the library. In extreme cases, the privileges of using the library books may be denied to such persons.

13. All those who may happen to be inside the library are excepted to observe complete silence. The librarian has to see that the rule of silence is strictly observed and report any wilful breach of library.

14. The library premises should not be used for purpose other than reading or consulting books and periodicals of the library.

15. Spitting, Sleeping in side the Librarty and putting oneís feet on the furniture of Library are strietly forbidden.

16. The following are the list showing maximam number of book that maybe issued at a time to the staff and student,

(a) Memberís of the Teaching Staff-TenBooks at a time for one Month
(b) A student of +2 & +3 classes. One book at a time.
(c) A student having Hons. (+3 1st year and +3 2nd year class). Two books at a time.
(d) A student in +3 3rd Hons. Three books at a time.
(e) Class III Employee - Two book at a time.
(f) Class IV Employee - On book at a time.

17. A book once issued to a borrower may be re issued to her/his only when nobody else wants to take the same.

18. Books of reference, maps, University, calender, current issues of periodicals, courses of studies, questions and rare books shall not be issued for use at home without special permission of the principal.

19. Members of the teaching staff and ministerial staff may take books from the library on singing in a loan Register.

20. The time allowed to borrowers is one month in case of teaching staff.

21. Any book lost, damaged or, defected by a borrower must be replaced by her/him. If a book is one of a set or, series and the volume can not be obtained single, the whole set or, series must be replaced at the readerís cost. Should the books be rare or, irreplaceable the borrower must pay an amount of ten times the catalogue price of the book.

22. In these cases in which the price of the books can not be ascertained she should pay as compensation an amount fixed by the principal.

23. A person borrowing from the library is supposed to have read the rules of the library & is supposed to abide by them. Ignorance of the library rules will be no excuse for the breach of any rules.

24. A single copy of a book shall be kept in not be issued without specific written permission from the Head of the institution.

25. If the date of issue falls on Sunday the issue date shall be the next day i.e. on Monday. No books shall be issued on public holidays.

26. With reference to Government letter No- IHE/D-20/2001 62415(91)/HE, dated 09.10.01, the guidelines for smooth transaction of Library Books in college issued vide letter No. IHE-D-20/2001/354488(8)/ He dt. 12.06.2001 is modified partially in the follwoing manner : -

(i) A college/ Junior College teacher can borrow only ten books at a time.
(ii) Books issued to the college/Junior college teachers shall be returned by the person concerned within 30 days from the date of issue (on the following working day, of the due date falls on holidays).
(iii) The books borrowed within one week of the commence -ment of the summer vacation shall be returned by the person concerned by the person concerned within one week of the re-opening of the college after summer vacation.
(iv) Non- teaching employees can borrow only (Two) books at a time which shall be returned by the person concerned within 15 days from the date of issue.
(v) In case the library book is lost by the person concerned, the recovering shall be made at the rate of ten times of the cost price of the books.
(vi) Books issued to a particular person can be re-issued only for 2 sucessive occasion during a particular academic session.


Special rules for students : -

(1) The student borrowers are subject to all the rules in section-II.

(2) In case of those students who do not return the library books within the time allowed a fine of 25 paise per head per books will be changed for a week. After the student will not be

permitted to keep the book with her. The librarian shall send on the 7th of every month a fine list of the previous month along with a statement showing the names of the students.

(3) For use in the reading room ordinarily one book or journal at a time may be issued to every student at a time may be issued to every student on a call slip. All such books journals, must be return to the librarian before the last period. If a student fails to return the book or the Journal a fine of fifty paise per day will be imposed on her till she returns the books or, Journal.

4. A student who wants to take books from the library should fill up her library card and present into the library. She should also present this card to the librarian whenever she wants to return a book.

5. If a student losses her card another will be issued to her on application and on payment of 25 paise.3

6. Ordinary no student will be allowed to keep the library books during the summer vacation.

7. Slips containing the catalogue number according to subjects, section, sub-section of the book will be received at the library counter in the first period. Book will be issued from the 2nd and 4th period.

8. The students should not enter the library without taking permission from the principal or from the librarian.

9. No outsider should enter the library without taking permission from teh principal.

10. One issue days of the library books all the students must submit the chits for issue before 12.30PM must return their library books before 12.30p.m.

11. If the date of issue falls on Sunday the issue date shall be the next day i.e. on Monday, No books shall be issued on public holidays.

12. If any students wants to submit her chits after the scheduled time, she must take the premission from the principal to get the library books.

13. The students should take their books before 4.p.m. everyday.

14. All the office works of the library will be done from 4p.m. to 4.50 p.m.

15. The library attendant must remain present in the library at the time of issue of books.

16. All the periodicals journal, questions. course of studies, reference which are issued in the daily issue register must be returned to the library before 4 p.m.

17. The student should submit their Identity card to the librarian at the time of issue of quetions, journals etc

18. After 4p.m. no books periodicals or. Journals can be issued to the students.

19. Silence must be observed by all the students at the time of the issue of the books.

20. Branch of rules and regulations of the library wil be viewed seriously.
